The world of combat sports is going through some interesting development in the last few weeks. It all started with UFC superstar Conor McGregor discussing a bout with multidivisional boxing champion Terence Crawford. Surprisingly, McGregor’s old rival Nate Diaz has roped himself into the conversation and uses Drake‘s name for the callout.

At UFC 306, Terence Crawford gained attention when he was unintentionally introduced as rapper Kendrick Lamar. In recent times, Kenrick Lamar and Drake beefed over their differences. It was a humorous blunder that went viral and became the subject of memes. To demonstrate his idea of a clash between himself and Crawford, Diaz had something interesting to say.

Crawford had previously rejected the two-fight offer with McGregor as he didn’t want to get kicked in the MMA bout. McGregor revealed a whopping $100 million per fight contract if things went according to plan, which tempted Crawford. As both fighters went back and forth on social media, Diaz tweeted about his intentions to fight both McGregor and Crawford.

After leaving UFC, Diaz has gone 1-1 with his boxing venture. The Stockton native bounced back from his Jake Paul loss by beating old UFC rival Jorge Masvidal earlier this year. A UFC return remains unlikely at the moment. It seems like Diaz wants to fight the biggest names in boxing and doesn’t mind calling out the top superstars.

Nate Diaz backs Conor McGregor versus Canelo Alvarez

Conor McGregor has yet to make his much anticipated UFC return, which was earlier canceled at UFC 303. However, this hasn’t stopped him from looking for other opportunities in boxing. Given his history with Floyd Mayweather and humongous popularity, McGregor does have the capacity to sell out big boxing pay-per-views.

Other top boxers, such as Canelo Alvarez, are well aware of this and wouldn’t want to miss out on the opportunity. Alvarez recently agreed to fight ‘easy’ McGregor to prove the dominance of boxing over MMA. Nate Diaz was asked about this fight, and the Stockton fighter chose Alvarez to win the boxing. However, he did share an additional perspective on it.

The animosity between Alvarez and McGregor has a long history, and both fighters have engaged in different internet disputes. If McGregor completes his deal with Terence Crawford, it would not be unexpected to see him fight Alvarez. These fights have a huge revenue potential with the right promoters to back them.
