Ryan Garica’s recent derogatory comments toward the Black community, Muslims, and Christians resulted in severe backlash. Mauricio Sulaiman, the WBC President, expelled Garcia for the remarks, and the boxer has now forward with defensive claims.
Interestingly, ‘King Ryan’ has dragged Mike Tyson’s name into the mix. During his heyday, Tyson had created more controversy than any other. Will it be enough to curb his critiques? It remains to be seen. Nonetheless, his claims did have a valid point.
De La Hoya Supports Garcia Amid Controversy and Expulsion
Garcia’s derogatory comments came in the backdrop of Muhammad Hijab’s controversial assessment of pedophilia as a relative term. The Islamic preacher claimed his conversations with streamer Sneako. When the boxer and Sneako interacted during X space, the 25-year-old made Islamophobic remarks.
Unfortunately, Garcia followed it up with a controversial racist rant against the Black community, mockingly referencing the derogatory term, ni**er. Moreover, he even referenced Christians as homosexuals. These remarks made Mauricio Sulaiman, WBC President, expel him. Interestingly, he has defended himself with a valid claim.
“Mike Tyson said he would fuck a white man In the ass and eat someone’s children. And I love uncle Mike. This the fight game fam. We been getting hit in the head since 7 years old give us a damn break. Fighting for yall entertainment,” Garica tweeted on X.
Oscar De La Hoya, Ryan Garcia’s promoter, has come forward and offered him support. Like Garica, De La Hoya also has had his share of controversy. The 1992 Olympic Gold medalist was the golden boy of boxing, a title many gave to Garcia during his comeup.

”There is no room for hate or intolerance at my company. Period. I condemn Ryan’s words in the strongest terms possible. I see that he has apologized, and that is a start,” tweeted De La Hoya, who urged the youngster to reflect on his ordeals during his time off from boxing.
Since Garcia will be out of boxing for a long time, rumors suggest a UFC debut for the former WBC interim champion. Dan Ige and Garcia have had an interesting social media exchange, suggesting a matchup at UFC 306 at the Las Vegas Sphere.
