Rappers Who NEVER Feared Suge Knight
Rappers Who NEVER Feared Suge Knight
Suge Knight is one of the most notorious figures in hip-hop history. The former CEO of Death Row Records was known for his ruthless tactics, violent reputation and involvement in the infamous East Coast-West Coast feud that claimed the lives of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. Many rappers, producers and executives were intimidated by Suge Knight and his associates, who allegedly used threats, beatings and even murder to get their way. However, not everyone was scared of Suge Knight. Here are some rappers who never feared Suge Knight and stood up to him in different ways.
Eazy-E
Eazy-E was the first person ever who wasn’t afraid to stand up to Suge Knight. The founder of Ruthless Records and N.W.A had a bitter dispute with Dr. Dre, who wanted to leave Ruthless and join Suge Knight’s Death Row Records. Suge Knight allegedly tried to coerce Eazy-E into releasing Dr. Dre from his contract by sending armed men to his office and threatening his family. However, Eazy-E refused to back down and even hired a lawyer to sue Suge Knight for extortion. Eazy-E also dissed Suge Knight on his song “Real Muthaphuckkin G’s”, calling him a “punk in a suit” and a “bodyguard”. Eazy-E died of AIDS in 1995, but his legacy as a fearless rap pioneer lives on.
Dr. Dre
When talking about rappers who never flinched about Suge Knight, it’s only right to include Dr. Dre. While many think that Dr. Dre never feared Suge Knight because they were friends, that wasn’t the case. In fact, Dr. Dre became Suge Knight’s worst enemy. After leaving Death Row Records in 1996, Dr. Dre founded his own label, Aftermath Entertainment, and signed Eminem, who became one of the biggest stars in rap history. Dr. Dre also produced hits for other artists like 50 Cent, Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar, while Suge Knight’s Death Row Records declined and went bankrupt. Dr. Dre also sued Suge Knight for unpaid royalties and defamation, and testified against him in court. Dr. Dre never let Suge Knight stop him from achieving success and making history.

Tupac Shakur
Tupac Shakur is one of the most controversial figures in rap history. The legendary rapper was signed to Death Row Records by Suge Knight in 1995, after he was released from prison on bail. Tupac Shakur became the face of Death Row Records and the West Coast rap scene, releasing classic albums like All Eyez on Me and The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory. Tupac Shakur also became involved in the feud with The Notorious B.I.G., Puff Daddy and Bad Boy Records, which escalated into violence and bloodshed. However, Tupac Shakur was not loyal to Suge Knight or Death Row Records. According to some sources, Tupac Shakur planned to leave Death Row Records and start his own label, Makaveli Records, with some of his friends and associates. Tupac Shakur also had doubts about Suge Knight’s role in his shooting at Quad Studios in 1994, which sparked the East Coast-West Coast rivalry. Tupac Shakur was fatally shot on September 7, 1996, in Las Vegas, while riding in a car driven by Suge Knight . Many conspiracy theories have emerged about Tupac Shakur’s death, some of which implicate Suge Knight as the mastermind behind the assassination. Tupac Shakur was a rap icon who never feared Suge Knight or anyone else.
