Caitlin Clark makes three-point shot from logo during Fever vs. Sun game
Caitlin Clark showed off her three-point range in the game between the Indiana Fever and the Connecticut Sun. During the second quarter of the Monday evening game, Clark made a three-pointer at the Sun’s logo at half-court. The shot comes a few days after Clark scored 30 points in the Fever’s win over the Washington Mystics.
“I certainly know there’s pressure there. That’s been like my entire career,” Clark said, per the Fever’s official website. “I just have fun playing basketball. I know this is a team sport. It’s not all about me…I’m definitely a perfectionist but I’m at my best when I allow myself to have a little grace and not expect everything to go exactly how it should, but at the same time that’s what allowed me to be so great.”
Clark added: “This is the most competitive league in the world. …I think the biggest thing is just to continue to give it an opportunity, continue to attract fans from the college game…When people gave it an opportunity and actually watched it they continued to come back for more and it’s the same thing with the WNBA.”
Caitlin Clark sends a message to Team USA ahead of the Olympics
Clark has made a big impact on the WNBA. But the former Iowa Hawkeyes star will not show off her skills to the world as she was not selected to be part of Team USA in the Olympics this summer. The Team USA roster includes. A’ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner, Alyssa Thomas, Napheesa Collier, Jewell Loyd, Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young, Sabrina Ionescu, Chelsea Gray and Kahleah Copper.
“No disappointment. I think it just gives you something to work for,” Clark said on Sunday. “That’s a dream. Hopefully one day I can be there. I think it’s just a little more motivation. You remember that and hopefully, when four years comes back around, I can be there.”
Clark also showed support for the women who made the team. “I’m excited for the girls that are on the team,” Clark added “It’s the most competitive team in the world and it could have gone either way with me being on the team or not being on the team. I’m excited for them and I’ll be rooting them on to win gold.”
