Cardi B and Sha’Carri Richardson Get Their Nails Done and Talk Paris Olympics: ‘I Will Come Just for You’
“I have no plans of letting life, adversity, any obstacle [stop] me from being in Paris,” Richardson told the rapper
Get ready for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris! It’s going to be an absolute blast, and nobody knows that better than Cardi B and Sha’Carri Richardson.
In a brand-new promotional video for NBC, hyping up the upcoming 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the dynamic duo — American track star, Sha’Carri Richardson, 24, and rap icon, Cardi B, 31 — share their enthusiasm for the games while enjoying one of their favorite ways to relax: getting manicures together.
The two stars, Cardi B and Sha’Carri Richardson, met for the first time to film a segment that aired on May 4 during NBC’s Kentucky Derby coverage. During the shoot, Cardi B, known for her hit “Up,” asked the Olympic hopeful the kinds of questions that regular folks might have about what it takes to qualify for the world’s biggest sporting event.
Sha’Carri Richardson explained that her training routine is much like a corporate 9-to-5 job, except hers is all about working out on the track. She told Cardi B that she trains five days a week, taking two days off to recover.
“It’s worth the hard work and sacrifices,” said the sprinter. “In those moments, it shows that this is why I do what I do.” These words came from Sha’Carri Richardson, who was crowned the fastest woman in the world after setting a record time and winning the 100-meter race at the World Track and Field Championships in Budapest, Hungary, in August 2023.
In the promotional video, Sha’Carri Richardson hinted at some of the challenges she’s faced in the past, discreetly touching upon her disqualification from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics due to a positive marijuana test.
“I have no plans of letting life, adversity, or any obstacle stop me from being in Paris,” Richardson stated. Then, she and Cardi B shared their excitement about the upcoming Olympics taking place in such an iconic city.
Richardson wholeheartedly agreed. “I feel like the fun is gonna be restored,” she commented.
