A fan has been accused of ruining an extraordinary moment from the World Series with their MAGA hat following the Dodgers’ win over the Yankees on Friday night.

The MLB threw up an incredible Game 1 that exceeded expectations and ended with Freddie Freeman hitting a walk-off grand slam from a Nestor Cortes pitch.

Yankees fans have taken issue with Aaron Boone having Cortes throw at that stage of the game, given that he spent over a month sidelined by an elbow injury. However, Dodgers fans are on cloud nine, although one suggested they did not enjoy the moment as much as a fan showed up in a photo of Freeman walking off wearing a MAGA hat.

MAGA hats have been a subject of contention in sports stadiums ahead of the elections. One fan was forced to throw hers away after being confronted by security at an Arizona Cardinals game earlier this year.

Still, it isn’t expected to ruin anything for the star slugger, who made history with his walk-off.

“When you’re 5 years old with your two older brothers and you’re playing whiffle ball in the backyard, those are the scenarios you dream about — two outs, bases loaded in a World Series game,” he said after the 6-3 Dodgers win. “For it to actually happen, and get a home run and walk it off to give us a 1-0 lead, that’s as good as it gets right there.”

The teams will face each other in Game 2 this Saturday night.
