Michael Jordan’s ex-wife Juanita Vanoy shares pride in Angel Reese breaking Candace Parker’s double-double record
Vanoy has all the reasons to be an Angel Reese fan.
She has a deep connection to Chicago, being born there on June 13, 1959.
She was raised on the city’s South Side and attended Fenger Academy High School where she played on the girls’ basketball team
Reese, the No. 7 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, has been a dominant force, recording a double-double each game since June 4.
Earlier this week, she set a Chicago Sky record with 19 rebounds against the Atlanta Dream.
Her new achievement came on the heels of Caitlin Clark also making history. On Saturday, the Indiana Fever rookie became the first WNBA rookie to record a triple-double as she steered the Fever to victory with 19 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds against the league-leading New York Liberty.

The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year race is shaping up to be the most exciting in history as it features two studs in Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark.
The two have been pitted against each other since college, and in their first year in the WNBA, they are neck and neck for the top rookie award.
As a frontcourt player, she shoots 41% from the field and 75.7% from the free-throw line.
She is the WNBA leader in total rebounds per game (11.7) and offensive rebounds per game (4.9).
Meanwhile, Clark, a guard, is averaging 16.1 points, 6.0 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game to go along with 1.4 steals per contest.
She is still finding her groove on the court, shooting 39.3% from the field, 33.1% from beyond the arc and 88.8% from the free-throw line.
Their teams’ records are also close, with the Sky at 8-12 and the Fever at 9-13.
