We’re just over a month away from Mike Tyson‘s big return against Jake Paul, but the YouTuber-turned-boxer is already on the hunt for his next challenge. As it has been the theme of his boxing career, the 27-year-old is looking to butt heads against another MMA fighter, and his sights are firmly set on the UFC light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira.

The 205-pound Brazilian wrecking machine recently earned another knockout in a hard-fought victory over Khalil Rountree Jr. Both of them put on a ‘Fight of the Night’ performance, and the challenger gave a better fight to ‘Poatan’ than most of his former light heavyweight rivals. However, Jake Paul claims to have seen the “holes” in Alex Pereira’s game, highlighting his slow work rate.

Jake Paul on the cons of Alex Pereira’s fighting style

There’s absolutely no doubt about how much impact Alex Pereira’s hands can have when they land on his opponent’s body. After all, the man has broken Francis Ngannou‘s recorded punching power. But witnessing Pereira fight, Jake Paul claims he’d have no problems dealing with him in a boxing ring.

“1000 percent I’d beat him. Rountree actually kind of exposed that he doesn’t have a high-volume output, he doesn’t like body shots,” Jake Paul stated during a live stream, with Kick streamer, Adin Ross“In MMA, Pereira would rip my head off, but boxing is a completely different sport and the pace of it and the style of it, it’s completely different.”

Jake Paul also mentioned Khalil Rountree Jr.’s moments from the fight. He did do some damage to Alex Pereira, even though the latter dominated him for most of the fight. Nevertheless, he sees the light heavyweight champion as a potential opponent, and it depends on Dana White to make it happen.

“Rountree rocked him, hurt him a couple of times to the body, but didn’t follow up on it… If anything, this fight showed me, yes, Alex Pereira is great, but I know I’d beat him in a boxing match. I’d still love to make that happen,” Jake Paul added.

Although it seems like fighting Alex Pereira is a far-fetched idea, there might be a degree of possibility that it could happen. Jake Paul recently snaked into UFC 306 at the Sphere, claiming that he was banned. However, the UFC CEO stated otherwise.

Will Dana White allow ‘Poatan’ to fight Paul?

Jake Paul garnered a great deal of attention after posting a video of him sneaking into the Mexican Independence Day pay-per-view in disguise. But when Dana White got word about it from the media in the post-fight presser, he appeared to be oblivious to the fact that ‘El Gallo’ claimed to have been banned by his promotion. Instead, he declared that not only was the former Disney star banned, but anyone could come into any UFC event without any problems, even Oscar De La Hoya, with whom White has had issues for a long time. Moreover, the 55-year-old also praised Paul for his success in boxing as well.

Nobody is banned from the UFC. Listen, that kid knows how to market and do his thing, and you know, all that, all that good sh–. But yeah. Jake Paul is welcome to come into UFC. He just can’t bring that, you know,” said Dana White. It sure is quite the U-turn from the UFC CEO, given that he had bashed Jake Paul’s boxing capabilities in the past.

But this does not mean he will let Paul fight his biggest fan-favorite at the moment. Pereira has been on a tear, fighting four times in the last calendar year. He admitted after UFC 308 that he needed to rest a little before taking his next fight. The options are many for the Brazilian – he can continue to test his luck at light heavyweight or try to chase three-weight title glory at heavyweight. For the time being, ‘Poatan’ is leaning towards the former.

Nevertheless, don’t forget to drop a comment on what you think about Jake Paul ‘exposing’ Alex Pereira.
