Caitlin Clark leads All-Star vote with 700,000+

Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark, an alumna of Iowa and Dowling Catholic, has been voted onto the WNBA All-Star team with the highest overall votes, totaling 700,735. Her teammate Aliyah Boston came in second with 618,680 votes, and MVP front-runner A’ja Wilson of the Aces followed closely with 607,300 votes. The only other rookie to make the All-Star team is Angel Reese of the Sky, who received 381,518 votes.

This means Clark and Reese will be teammates when the 12-player team takes on Wilson and the U.S. Olympic team in Phoenix on July 20 at the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game. Clark and Reese had a memorable rivalry in college, with Iowa losing to LSU in the 2023 NCAA championship game. However, Clark and the Hawkeyes got their revenge in the Elite Eight this year.

In the pros, Clark’s Fever have secured two wins, while Reese’s Sky have one. All of their games have garnered high ratings, with 8 of the 10 most-watched WNBA games in the league’s 28-year history featuring Clark and the Fever.

Clark’s popularity has undoubtedly contributed to the Fever being the only team with three All-Stars: Clark, Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell, who is the team’s co-leading scorer.
