Caitlin Clark’s Six-Word Take on Lisa Bluder’s Retirement is Turning Heads

Caitlin Clark is just hours away from an exciting showdown against her best friend and former Iowa Hawkeyes teammate, Kate Martin. When Clark’s Indiana Fever and Martin’s Las Vegas Aces first clashed, their former Iowa coach, Lisa Bluder, was courtside to witness the thrilling matchup. Adding to the anticipation, current Iowa coach Jan Jensen, who served as an assistant under Bluder, was also there to spectate, making this reunion a must-watch event.

During a Monday press conference, Kate Martin mentioned that their former coach, Lisa Bluder, would be attending Tuesday’s showdown. True to her word, Bluder shared an Instagram photo on Tuesday, posing alongside Caitlin Clark, Kate Martin, and former Hawkeye Megan Gustafson, capturing the special moment.

Iowa’s Caitlin Clark (22) talks to coach Lisa Bluder while playing Holy Cross in a first-round NCAA Tournament game Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa.

Current Indiana Fever player and former Iowa Hawkeye Caitlin Clark (22) talks to coach Lisa Bluder while playing Holy Cross in a first-round NCAA Tournament game Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa.

Bluder’s caption read, “Thank you, Cami, for hosting us at the Westgate Casino and Resort!

And Clark had the post’s most-liked caption.

“Love you coach ! My retired queen,” Clark wrote.

Although Bluder never managed to win a national championship while at Iowa, taking two consecutive teams to the NCAA championship game and helping turn Clark into a global superstar is deserving of a great retirement.

But her presence at the Fever vs. Aces game on Tuesday shows she clearly can’t stay away from the game for long.
