Emotional stress has been former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson‘s driving force during his illustrious professional career. Flashbacks of his rough childhood came rushing back once he shared the ring with his opponent. But, what triggers the violent outburst that more often than not leads to his opponents laid out in a heap on the canvas?

Well, an uncanny resemblance to the Marvel character Hulk might go a long way in explaining his mindset inside the ring. Just like Tyson, anger triggers Hulk to leave a trail of destruction in his path. In a conversation with Logan Paul and co-host Mike Majlak on the podcast show ImPaulsive,  Mike Tyson revealed the secret formula for activating the “most brutal and vicious” self inside the ring against his opponents.

Traumatic past = Angry Mike Tyson!

Ever since he retired from boxing in 2005, Mike Tyson has always maintained a calm and composed demeanor, a far cry from his younger self who was quite volatile and aggressive. The best way to describe ‘Uncle Mike’ nowadays would be— a pot-smoking gentle giant who would be more than happy to shoot the breeze with his friends and family.

However, he might need to tap into his uncomfortable past yet again ahead of his showdown with Jake Paul on November 15th. On that note, in his conversation with Mike Tyson, Logan Paul noted, “Ever Seen The Avengers… do you know that scene where Bruce Banner- the Hulk, is like ‘that’s my secret doctor I’m always angry’ and then he turns into the Hulk, I feel like that’s you.”

Notably, one of the protagonists of The Avengers ensemble, Bruce Banner, transforms into his alter-ego, the green raging monster Hulk, when he experiences stress or anger. Agreeing with Logan’s analogy. Tyson stated, “I’m a little Hulkish yeah”. Probing Tyson further, Logan Paul asked, “That’s your secret it’s always just right on the surface you can you can access that Iron Mike Tyson at any time?”

Without mincing his words, Tyson revealed that he dredges up scenarios from his rough childhood to transform himself into ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ inside the ring. “We going to keep it real right yeah. Only thing I have to think of is being younger and people bullying me,” Mike Tyson stated.

Furthermore, Tyson clarified to Paul that he still hasn’t reached the stage yet where he needs to tap into those uncomfortable feelings ahead of his fight against Jake Paul. “Closer it gets to the fight…yeah I get that feeling,” Tyson revealed.

The 58-year-old fighter recently got done with the New York presser of his showdown with Jake Paul where he vowed to make fight night a “painful experience” for ‘The Problem Child’. Meanwhile, in the same interview, Tyson revealed the pitfalls of transforming himself into a man with the conqueror’s mindset.

A haunting but necessary experience!

On fight night on November 14, people will get to witness Tyson switch on his killer instinct against the former Disney star. However, he does express a bit of regret in invoking the violent persona that made him the famed knockout artist during his prime.

“Hey listen, unfortunately, I have to fight and be that guy. I wish I could stop that guy. That guy haunts me. What I learned from experience when that tough guy Mike Tyson comes out when it’s not necessary to come out, I’m always in handcuffs,” Tyson said.

However, he also revealed in his conversation with Logan Paul and co-host Mike Majlak that there is an off-switch to his “I am Alexander” mode. “I love my children, love my family, to basically get rid of that guy,” Tyson further said.

Nonetheless, it remains to be seen whether Tyson’s killer instinct will help him beat an opponent who is thirty-one years younger than him. Possibly, for the first time, he is going into a fight as the underdog, with many fight analysts and fans expressing concern about his health. Who do you think will win the upcoming Tyson-Paul bout?
