World Champion Vows To ‘Destroy Terence Crawford’s Legacy’: “I’ll Fight You For Free”

Terence Crawford is considered by many to be the best fighter in the sport of boxing. As such, there’s a long list of challengers looking for a shot at the throne.

‘Bud’ moved on from his statement undisputed welterweight win over Errol Spence Jr last year by moving up to the 154 ranks to fight and beat Israil Madrimov for the WBA belt.

That was the fourth division he has been world champion in, undisputed in two, and his 41st win in a 41 fight campaign that kicked off back in 2008.

At 37-year-old, he doesn’t have many fights left before hanging up the gloves. One man who is desperate to fill the opposite corner before that happens is Teofimo Lopez.

The Brooklyn native has said he is willing to move up to super-welterweight to make the fight happen, and recently succeeded in getting under Crawford’s skin during an out of the ring altercation.

Responding to a post in which Crawford mocked his rumoured dispute with promotional outfit Top Rank, Lopez said he would fight the pound-for-pound star for nothing.

“Laugh now, cry later. Terence Crawford, I’ll fight you for free. Destroying your legacy is worth more than money to me! You’ve always been a fan.”

The 27-year-old two-weight world champion is doing his best to talk himself into a fight, however Crawford still has sights firmly set on a bout with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez. Failing that, he is currently in a negotiation period for a super-welterweight unification against Sebastian Fundora which will head to purse bids if a deal can’t be reached.
