EMINEM WANTS FANS TO ‘SHARE THEIR STORY’ FOR UPCOMING ‘STANS’ DOCUMENTARY

Eminem Wants Fans To 'Share Their Story' For Upcoming 'Stans' Documentary

Eminem has offered his extensive fanbase the opportunity to participate in a new documentary about the peak of his career and the frenzied obsessions surrounding it.

On Wednesday (April 10), the Detroit native issued an open call to his social-media followers by sharing a link to a questionnaire that will presumably be used to shortlist participants for Stans.

The form consists of questions such as “What are some things in your life that you’ve accomplished thanks to Eminem/his music?” and “Do you remember when Eminem took a break from touring/releasing albums circa 2005? If so, how did that impact you?”

You can fill out the form here.

Back in February, Variety reported that the 51-year-old MC was preparing to co-produce a documentary titled Stans, which is a reference to his fictional song about a devotee of his music who ends up killing himself and his girlfriend after Em doesn’t respond to his letters.

“Stan” has since become a recognized term (both noun and verb) used to convey obsession, typically for artists and celebrities.

Directed by Steven Leckart and set to be released later this year via Shady Films, the film’s synopsis describes it as a “revealing, edgy, and disarmingly personal journey into the world of superfandom, told through the lens of one of the world’s most iconic and enduring artists, Eminem, and the fans that worship him.”

The “Lose Yourself” hitmaker’s manager Paul Rosenberg said that the upcoming movie “will be the opportunity for us to turn the camera around and ask the audience about being fans — and in some cases, fanatics.

“This is a study of the relationship between fanbase and artist through the lens of one of Eminem’s most fascinating songs and one of the world’s most important entertainers.”

In other news, Eminem recently pranked his longtime fans with the promise of a new album.

On April Fool’s Day, he posted a video on Instagram that began with an announcer teasing “the highly anticipated next studio album,” before letting on that things aren’t exactly as they appear.

The caption read: “Out Now [firework, flame and an infinity emoji].”

The reason for that last character quickly became obvious as the video states that the upcoming project “is back to where it all started” — that is Em’s pre-fame 1996 LP Infinite.

As the soundtrack shifted to said project’s title track, the announcer promised “even more Infinite.”
