It seems the Met Gala has stirred up more than just fashion trends this year.

Cardi B and Offset—known for their on-again, off-again romance since 2017—made a strong appearance together at the Met Gala after-party on May 6, following the 2024 Costume Institute benefit. The couple walked in side by side, presenting a united front.

The “WAP” rapper, who dazzled in a dramatic black gown during the “Garden of Time”-themed gala, changed into a striking red corset dress with a square neckline and a flowing mermaid-style skirt for the after-party. Offset, who didn’t attend the gala itself, complemented her style with a simple blue jacket featuring floral embroidery, ripped jeans, and white boots.

Despite their public appearance at the Met Gala after-party on May 6, Cardi B and Offset, parents to Kulture, 5, and Wave, 2, aren’t heading toward reconciliation after their latest split in 2020. Although they cozied up during fashion’s biggest night, Cardi has been candid about the challenges they face in rebuilding their relationship.

“The answer to getting back together is not just having a good night at the club and getting intimate,” the 31-year-old explained during a livestream posted to X (formerly Twitter) in January. “We need to work on our issues. We need to work on our communication. There are things he needs to work on, and there are things I need to work on.”

Met Gala 2024 brought its share of stunning red carpet fashion, but it also hinted at possible reunions among other notable ex-couples. Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny—who were among the event’s co-chairs along with Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez, and Anna Wintour—were spotted sitting together at an after-party, sparking curiosity about whether they, too, might rekindle their connection.
